Asthma

Boy with asthma puffer

Asthma is a common condition that affects the small air passages (bronchi) of the lungs. During an asthma attack these small airways become narrow, reducing the flow of air in and out of the lungs. This may lead to wheezing, coughing and difficulty with breathing.

Different triggers bring on asthma in different people. Asthma can be controlled with the appropriate medication.

How we can help

Our Terry White Chemists pharmacist can give you advice and recommend products that make it easier to manage Asthma.

Talk to us about:

  • Questions about your prescribed medicines
  • Peak Flow Meters to measure the extent to which your airways are open
  • Space Chambers (or ‘spacers’) to overcome the need for coordinating breathing with a puffer (great for children)
  • Nebulisers that convert liquid medication into a fine mist which is then breathed in through a mask. Ask us for the right one for you.
  • We can help answer any questions you may have about your asthma action plan from your doctor.
